Types of scholarships
The most common scholarships may be classified as:

Student-specific: It is given to the students who clear all the requirements on the gender, caste, religion and many other factors. There are many scholarship programs funded by many of the billionaires around the world such as the Gates Millennium scholars program for the minority student around the world.
Career-specific: It is awarded to those who plan to pursue their studies in particular field and has already proved their expertise. Many of the colleges or universities around the world offer full scholarships to enter specific field.
College-specific: It is given by the individual college or university to the candidate on the account of the academics and other co-curricular activities.
Athletic: It is rewarded to candidates with remarkable skill in certain sport, so that the student will attend the college and play from the college team.
